The year has quickly come to a close, and it's time for the final club round-up of 2025!
In December, three EdinburghJudo members achieved their black belt - congratulations to Omar, Emily and Calum who all successfully competed the requirements for their 1st Dans across the month.
All three had already gained their competitive points at gradings and competitions in the past, so it was just a case of studying hard to pass their theory, and they will now go into 2026 wearing their black belts - well done!
We are very excited to have officially launched our new range of EdinburghJudo team wear this month, made in collaboration with Macron Sports Hub Edinburgh!

The weekend of the 13th-14th of December saw a number of our performance squad players make the trip down to Nottingham for the biggest and last domestic event of the year: the 2025 British Championships.
We had players competing across the cadet, junior and senior events, so it was a very busy two days of competition. As with every event, there were wins, losses and a variety of lessons learned that the team will take forward into their training throughout 2026.
Well done to everyone who stepped up across the weekend to round off a good year of competition!

With competitions, camps, gradings and training done for the year, it was time for some festivities before the club closed its doors for our annual Christmas break. We hosted a number of events for our members to get together, socialise and have fun after a year of hard work on the mat!
Thank you to our coaches, staff and volunteers for their hard work in creating great Christmas events for our members. There was plenty of excitement and festive spirit across both the Christmas party and two days of camp for our younger juniors, with lots of fun games and prizes for all participants! Our older juniors enjoyed getting competitive over games of pool and darts with coaches and each other at the Ballroom, whilst our senior members, staff and coaches got together for a night of drinks and dancing at the Hibs Club.
As the year draws to a close, we’d like to reflect back on what has been another wonderful year for EdinburghJudo. We’ve wrapped up some of the stats across 2025 from our main dojo in St. Margaret’s House, and put together a little recap video with some moments from across the year that you can watch below.
